Outrageous Mercy

19Remembering mine affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall.
20My soul hath them still in remembrance, and is humbled in me.
21This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.
22It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
23They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness

Lam. 3:19 - 23

out⋅ra⋅geous - highly unusual or unconventional; extravagant; remarkable

When it comes to your relationship to God as an individual, to our relationship with God as a church, what would you say is our greatest need? What is it, above anything else that we need as we approach God? What is at the top of the list for prime importance? It is mercy. Mercy. It is to be looked upon by God, not as we deserve to be looked upon, but looked upon favourably

When we begin to examine the definition of outrageous, we can comprehend what the author of the writings was trying to convey. God's mercy is renewed every morning. It never runs out. It is an extravagant mercy, it supercedes all others. It is unconventional and unorthodox.

But the fact that God's mercy is renewed every morning lets us know that He does not care what happened last night, last week or month.....His mercy is renewed everyday.

I do not know about you, but I am glad for outrageous mercy.

God Bless.

This is a segment of the message that was preached Sunday.
